This is truly a service based around you & what you need to help you feel happier & more supported at this point on your own parenting journey. One-off consultations & online check in’s are also available to offer support during those early days & weeks.

Begin Well – Antenatal Education Courses
Evidence based antenatal course which gives parents-to-be the starting blocks for family life.
Working alongside volunteers in the South West, Begin Well provides affordable high quality, evidence-based antenatal classes to pregnant women and their birth partners.The course takes place over 5 weeks, and covers topics including Giving Birth and Meeting our Baby, Changes for me and us, our Health and Wellbeing and Caring for our Baby. There is no charge for the course.Our course is based on the NHS curriculum and is delivered by church volunteers across Bristol and Devon. We link parents-to-be with people and resources in their local community, so after having a baby you are supported through all the challenges and joy having a baby brings.
Birth Bliss Academy – Your Birth Your Way
Your Birth, Your Way does not focus on one specific method or philosophy of childbirth and parenting . It is a complete programme designed to inspire you to connect with what is personally important, educate you so that you are able to identify what choices to make and support you in creating positive experiences.
Mamma Breastfeeding Peer Support Group
Weekly Breastfeeding Peer Support Group in Portishead – Cafe Mamma is one of the 8 breastfeeding support groups running across North Somerset. All the volunteer peer supporters are Mums who have breastfed & undertaken Accredited training to provide Information & Support. Cafe Mamma runs weekly in Portishead. They can support you at their weekly drop in, by phone or on their Facebook group. Sessions are run by trained Breastfeeding Peer Supporters (all local mums).
The Daisy Foundation
I’m Ellie, I’m a mum of 3 and a perinatal teacher with The Daisy Foundation Portishead, Nailsea and Yatton. I offer a selection of classes, workshops and group sessions for you in pregnancy and as a new parent. I’ll help you to enjoy a positive pregnancy, confident birth and cut through the overwhelm as you find your way with your little one!
Dr Perks’ Poorly Poppets
We are a team of doctors & health visitors who run sessions for parents with children 0 to 2 years. We give advice on why this age group is often unwell. We discuss what self-help measures will reduce any discomfort. You’ll learn what to do if your baby is choking. We discuss what to look for when your baby is unwell, when to worry & who to call for advice.

I am an independent celebrant. I design, write and deliver ceremonies and celebrations for those special occasions in your life such as weddings, naming ceremonies and funerals. Our Birthlight aqua natal pregnancy exercise classes are recommended by the Royal college of Midwifes (RCM). Our classes offer a relaxed environment in warm pools allowing you to enjoy each stage of your pregnancy, learn beneficial breathing practices, meet other expectant mums, and find time for you and your unborn baby.
Yoga movements and specialist rotations have been adapted making them achievable and comfortable for pregnant women. These specialised movements can be very beneficial if you are suffering from backache, pelvis pain (SPD, PGP) and other pregnancy related symptoms. You do not need to have practised yoga, aqua natal or be a swimmer to join us.

Pilates Fit Portishead
I am pre and post-natal qualified and run 6-week postnatal Pilates courses throughout the year.
My postnatal courses include a strong focus on strengthening core and pelvic floor after having a baby, as well as helping to improve posture and flexibility.
Babies are welcome to join you at my postnatal classes and class sizes at kept small to provide plenty of space and allow for feedback and support.
We always check for abdominal separation at the start of a postnatal course and I include exercises to help close abdominal separation if it exists.
I also offer private classes at my home studio or your own home.
Yoga Glow Studio Pregnancy Yoga is all about nurturing and strengthening you and your baby during pregnancy. It will help ensure a relaxing and comfortable pregnancy, release any discomforts and help prepare you for childbirth. It’s also about creating a bond between you and your baby that you can take with you into parenthood.Classes are friendly and informal and suitable to everyone from 14 weeks gestation, whether you have done yoga before or not. Everyone who comes will be at a different stage in pregnancy and with different symptoms so I aim to make my teaching as tailored as possible to the individual.
