 Mothers for Mothers

We are a group of mothers, most of whom have suffered postnatal depression or distress after the birth of one or more of our babies. We offer support, advice, information and most of all a listening ear for any worries or concerns you may have. Call: 0117

 Mums in Mind

Mums in Mind is a group provided by Home-Start. It’s a peer to peer support group for mums with babies under one who are experiencing low mood, depression or anxiety and/or isolation. We run sessions in 8 week blocks in different locations around North Somerset where mums are supported by a Home-Start worker and trained volunteers to enjoy tea, flapjacks and supportive chat alongside mindful craft and self care activities for mum.  Our volunteers run a baby play area alongside this and in the same

 VitaMinds (replaces the Positive Step service)

VitaMinds offer a variety of short-term psychological therapies for conditions such as depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder throughout North Somerset. You can be referred by your health professional & you can also refer

 North Somerset Wellbeing Service

The North Somerset Wellbeing Service works alongside people with mental health problems. Using Wellbeing College style activities and techniques, the service offers motivation and support to help people take a step forward in their recovery journey. You can be referred by your health professional & you can also refer yourself. Sessions are currently being run in Clevedon, Nailsea & Weston-super-Mare (coming soon to Portishead)

Cafe Mamma Portishead

A weekly drop in cafe for breastfeeding mums, run by peer supporters (volunteer mums trained in breastfeeding support). Hosted at Portishead Children’s Centre, West Hill, every Tuesday from 10-11.30am. Search for ‘Cafe Mamma Portishead’ to join our closed Facebook group. Call our helpline: 07816 366 370 (Monday to Friday, 10am-3pm and 7-9pm). I am a Child Behaviour & Support Specialist with many years’ experience and success in guiding adults to effectively manage common behavioural problems in children and teenagers, both at home and in school. My advice is based on positive and respectful management of children with appropriate boundary setting. I cover from toddler to secondary school children, & have training & expertise in ADHD & Autism.

I provide child behaviour support in North Somerset, including Weston Super Mare, Bristol and further afield.

  • I’ll usually meet with parents in their own home, but also offer remote consultations by email, phone and WhatsApp face-to-face meetings.
  • Most sessions consist of talking through issues; jointly finding solutions and planning a way forward. I provide both practical and emotional support
  • I may want to meet your child, but most sessions are with the parent(s)
  • In between sessions I am able to provide support over email and on the phone
  • Groups of parents can be catered for
