Aquatic Harmony

Our Birthlight aqua natal pregnancy exercise classes are recommended by the Royal college of Midwifes (RCM). Our classes offer a relaxed environment in warm pools allowing you to enjoy each stage of your pregnancy, learn beneficial breathing practices, meet other expectant mums, and find time for you and your unborn baby.

Yoga movements and specialist rotations have been adapted making them achievable and comfortable for pregnant women. These specialised movements can be very beneficial if you are suffering from backache, pelvis pain (SPD, PGP) and other pregnancy related symptoms. You do not need to have practised yoga, aqua natal or be a swimmer to join us.

Daisy Birthing

These active birth pregnancy classes help you to learn your antenatal education alongside yoga-based movement.  Birth can be such a positive experience when we have the tools, techniques and information to make the choices that are right for us.  From 14 weeks these classes are as suitable for subsequent babies as they are your first.  They are a warm and welcoming space to connect with other mums as you prepare to meet your baby.  We also offer couples antenatal workshops to learn birth preparation and practical baby care alongside relaxation and birth hypnosis. Gordano Sports Centre has been changing lives all over Portishead since we were established. We’re not a typical gym. At Gordano Sports Centre the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, perfect for those who just want to get fit without any ‘competition’. Unlike most sports centres Gordano Sports Centre is a small establishment that has a more customer-based approach. When you regularly use our facilities you will come to see regular faces who have an aim to remember as many names as possible, why not test them? Come down and see for yourself the excellent customer satisfaction that we offer. Pilates Fit Portishead

  • Do you want to improve your posture and flexibility?

  • Maybe you just want a fun full body workout?

If you said yes to any of these, then my group or private Pilates’ classes with small equipment could be the answer. You should leave my class feeling like you have worked, but also feel stretched, energised and ready for whatever your day throws at you. I am also pre and post-natal qualified and run 6-week postnatal Pilates course throughout the year. Babies are welcome to join you at my postnatal classes.

Portishead Running Club

We are a friendly local club, based at the Lakegrounds in Portishead who meet on Tuesday, Wednesday (ladies only – More Info here ) and Thursday evenings for jogging, running and some coaching. We meet at 6.50pm for a prompt departure at 7pm at the Hutch.

Yoga Glow Studio

Yoga Glow Studio Pregnancy Yoga is all about nurturing and strengthening you and your baby during pregnancy.  It will help ensure a relaxing and comfortable pregnancy, release any discomforts and help prepare you for childbirth. It’s also about creating a bond between you and your baby that you can take with you into parenthood.Classes are friendly and informal and suitable to everyone from 14 weeks gestation, whether you have done yoga before or not.  Everyone who comes will be at a different stage in pregnancy and with different symptoms so I aim to make my teaching as tailored as possible to the individual.

Benefits of Prenatal yoga

  • Increase the strength, flexibility and endurance of muscles needed for childbirth and build strength and stamina overall.

  • Reduce stress and anxiety and encourage you to trust that your body will open up during labour and childbirth

  • Bonding with your baby

Severn Physiotherapy
